  • Bath Royal Literary & Scientific Institute (BRLSI) 16-18 Queen Square Bath, England, BA1 2HN United Kingdom (map)

Professor Joy Schaverien

Psychotherapist, Jungian Psychoanalyst

This talk is based on the case of a client who was diagnosed with a terminal illness soon after commencing psychotherapy.  Illustrated with pictures made by the therapist as a form of self- supervision this is a story of love within the therapeutic frame as life draws to a close.  It is also a case study of boarding school syndrome.

Joy Schaverien PhD is a Training Analyst of the SAP and a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Analytical Psychology.  She has published extensively including: The Dying Patient in Psychotherapy (a new edition is in press) and Boarding School Syndrome: The Psychological Trauma of the ‘Privileged” Child, (June 2015) which was a Routledge and Amazon bestseller.
