Psychotherapy is, in essence, a process of self-enquiry within a relational context. This talk explores those phenomenological and mindful enquiry processes that build inner awareness but which may also evoke fear, resistance or dissociation especially when underlying shame or trauma issues are present. Using clinical vignettes and contemplation this talk will explore how we might empathically engage with these complex processes.
Margaret Landale is an experienced psychotherapist and supervisor and delivers workshops and talks nationwide on somatization, complex trauma and embodied empathic attunement. She is also interested in the integration of mindfulness and phenomenological approaches in psychotherapy.
